Wembley is part of the Greater London borough of Brent , a union of the former boroughs of Wembley and Willesden. Originally a rural farming community, Wembley (and Brent in general) is now one of the most culturally diverse places in Europe with over 90 languages spoken. Migration to the area from overseas as well as the rest of the United Kingdom, has been happening for nearly 200 years. Settlers have included Irish labourers, Jewish refugees from Russia and later from Nazi Germany, Caribbean and Asian families.
